The PC version of XL Game’s ArcheAge was released in Korea last January 16. Those waiting for the English version of the MMORPG have a long wait ahead of them but the first step has now been taken as Trion Worlds has now been tapped to publish and operate ArcheAge in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, as reported by Polygon.com.
ArcheAge has been called a “sandpark” game because it blends themepark and sandbox elements, including popular features such as player housing, ship-vs-ship combat, open-world PvP, crafting, trading, instanced dungeons, siege warfare, dynamic environment, etc. It’s very exciting because the list of ArcheAge features is exactly like many players’ dream list of the most wanted MMO features.
The Korean version is pay-to-play with a monthly subscription so it’s likely that the same will also be true for the Western version although there has not been any official announcement about it yet.
ArcheAge English Version Release Date: TBA

This video shows what the combat and skill combos look like. Apart from the usual melee, ranged, magic attacks, it’s quite interesting that there is one character that kills a mob using a musical instrument. It’s not done by bashing the monster over the head with a guitar. The character simply plays music on his stringed instrument and it damaged the mob. Nice!
